| Art community building project for internet and multimedia Short documentary films that portrait human beings, art and museums: a multimedia project that originates in Italy and opens up to an international network, using the www.the-amp.org website as an aggregator for museums and museum-goers from all over the world. The project draws the artwork and its public close: the viewer becomes an observer and an object of observation at the same time, he/she is listened to and perceived as a piece of art composed of feelings and thoughts, as a key piece of the artistic communication. Through an informal and straightforward approach, as opposed to one that is scientific or academic, The Amp creates a space to collect people’s thoughts and emotions about art and museums or exhibition spaces. The museum (or the gallery) becomes a secure place where thought is set free and amplified, and returns to the center of attention. Museum-goers and art fans are invited to observe a work of art while meditating about it and about themselves in relation to the artwork; this establishes a playful, free-association process between what we see and what we feel. The Amp takes art back to where it belongs, and makes it everybody’s legacy available for a range of perceptions which becomes like a kaleidoscope of mankind. |
Progetto di art community building per internet e multimedia Brevi film documentari che parlano di uomini, arte e spazi museali; un progetto multimediale che parte dall’Italia per aprirsi ad un network internazionale utilizzando la rete come scenario di connessioni tra i vari musei del mondo. Il progetto nasce dalla volontà di accostare, ponendoli sullo stesso piano, l’opera d’arte e il suo pubblico: lo spettatore diventa allo stesso tempo osservatore e oggetto di osservazione, viene ascoltato e percepito come “opera” fatta di sensazioni, pensieri e quindi come tassello fondamentale nel processo di comunicazione artistica. The Amp, attraverso un approccio molto aperto e non specialistico, crea uno spazio in cui raccogliere le sensazioni legate all’arte e agli spazi museali. Il museo diventa luogo protetto in cui il pensiero, liberato e amplificato (Amp in inglese significa appunto “amplificatore”), torna al centro dell’attenzione. Le persone coinvolte vengono stimolate ad osservare e meditare su se stesse a partire dall’opera osservata, in un libero gioco di associazioni tra quello che si vede e le sensazioni che si provano. The Amp riporta l’arte a misura d’uomo, rendendola patrimonio condiviso e disponibile ad un flusso di percezioni grande quanto il complesso e variegato panorama umano. |
